Jordan vs Argentina World Cup prediction, picks, analysis

June 27, 2026, 6:31 a.m. ET

Lionel Messi and Argentina are already locked in for the round of 32 as they seek to defend their 2022 World Cup title. Their final match in Group J is against lowly Jordan, who has already been knocked out of the tournament. The fixture will take place on Saturday, June 27 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Messi leads the Golden Boot race with five goals through two matches. He passed Miroslav Klose and then Marta to be the all-time leading World Cup scorer with 18. Argentina clinched the group after beating Algeria 3-0 and then handling Austria 2-0.

This will be Jordan's last match of the tournament. They lost to Austria 3-1 and then fell to Algeria 2-1. Nizar Al-Rashdan and Ali Olwan scored the two goals. Olwan's was the Middle Eastern country's first World Cup goal, so the team isn't leaving their first tournament completely empty-handed. The top two teams of each group will advance to the Round of 32 as well as the top eight third-place teams.

Jordan vs Argentina predictions

Seth Vertelney: Jordan 0 -3 Argentina

Argentina will be playing its backups but those players have more than enough to overwhelm an overmatched Jordan side.

Jon Arnold: Jordan 0-3 Argentina

Argentina will dominate even with reserves, and Messi should make a late cameo and may be aiming for another goal ... Or two.

Jesse Yomtov: Jordan 0 - 2 Argentina

How much will Messi play in this game? It's time for Argentina's other top players to step up.

Victoria Hernandez: Jordan 0 - 3 Argentina

Argentina has already made clear that it's full steam ahead to defend its title. Messi and co. Probably won't play the full match, but they still want to keep form and Jordan is just the punching bag.
