Taylor Swift and her "magnetic force of a man" Travis Kelce are married.

The couple wed July 3 at New York City's Madison Square Garden in one of the most anticipated weddings of the year, according to Swift's representative, Tree Paine.

Their wedding ceremony looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson.

Swift and Kelce did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen, instead opting for Swift's brother Austin Swift as her man of honor and Jason Kelce was the groom's best man. The ceremony was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.

The timing of the Grammy singer and Super Bowl champion's wedding allowed the pair to celebrate during a holiday long associated with Swift, who has spent years hosting Fourth of July gatherings with friends and family, while giving Kelce time to enjoy the offseason before reporting to Kansas City Chiefs training camp later this month.

The couple tied the knot on July 3 in front of a sea of celebrities, athletes, business moguls, friends and families. Media crews camped outside of the iconic venue for days, while fans trickled by in the "Cruel Summer" heat. New York Police shut down the immediate vicinity of Madison Square Garden and closed part of 7th Avenue bottlenecking traffic near the iconic sports and entertainment arena.

A parade of black SUVs, Escalades, buses and Ubers dropped off guests for two hours along 31st street where they unloaded underneath a white tent and walked inside. Some celebrities like "The Summer I Turned Pretty" author Jenny Han and singer-songwriter Benson Boone walked in full attire down the sidewalk to the entrance. Fans crowded along barricades hoping to see a glimpse of the stars. At one point, comedian Nikki Glaser rolled down her window and quickly rolled it back up.

Why July 3 at Madison Square Garden?

July 3 carries special significance for Swift. For years, the singer has marked the Fourth of July holiday with gatherings at her Rhode Island home, hosting friends and family for celebrations that became a hallmark of her summers. By choosing the start of Independence Day weekend for their celebration, Swift and Kelce are transforming that tradition into a milestone of their own.

Like any venue, the decision to celebrate a wedding at Madison Square Garden comes with advantages and drawbacks. On one hand, the arena offers a level of privacy and security few locations can match. Its network of private entrances, restricted-access corridors and VIP spaces makes it easier to shield guests from public view. MSG also has the capabilities to host production if Paul McCartney, Stevie Knicks or Ed Sheeran wanted to perform.

Kelce said live music would be likely at the festivities. "We're live music kind of people," the Kansas City Chiefs veteran said on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast. And Swift said in an October interview that pals like Ed Sheeran might perform: "It's like, 'Ed, if there's a stage, you know that you'll be on it,'" she said. "He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want."

MSG is also a place with deep personal significance for Swift. She headlined her first Madison Square Garden show during the "Fearless" era in 2009, returned during the "Speak Now" Tour, and she also later performed at several Jingle Ball concerts there. In 2019, she celebrated her 30th birthday at the venue. Most recently, she attending the NBA Finals there in June 2026 alongside sisters Este and Alana Haim wearing a "Stevie Knicks" shirt.

The love story that started with a megaphone callout

Through Arrowhead sightings, Eras Tour appearances, international flights, postgame kisses, viral celebrations and "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs" lyric changes, the couple's relationship has played out on the international stage since they began dating in summer 2023.

Their love story traces back to the tight end's failed attempt to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it during her Kansas City Eras Tour stop, a story Kelce later relayed on his "New Heights" podcast, where he publicly shot his shot.

Swift would go on to immortalize that moment in song. On "The Fate of Ophelia," the lead single from "The Life of a Showgirl," she sings, "I heard you calling on the megaphone," a wink to Kelce's podcast mic.

"This dude didn't get a meet and greet," Swift joked on the "New Heights" podcast on Aug. 13, where she launched her "Life of a Showgirl" album announcement. "He's making it everyone's problem."

And little did Swift know, but soon after that taping that episode, Kelce would be kneeling to the ground and pulling out a ring for her. Below is the full timeline of their romance.

Major moments from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship

July 8, 2023

Kelce danced his way into Arrowhead Stadium attending night two of the Eras Tour. Chiefs player No. 87 hoped to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. But he was unsuccessful. Kelce put Swift on blast, telling his brother Jason Kelce, "I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows... she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings."

In her 2023 Time Magazine person of the year interview, Swift said: “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other."

Sept. 24, 2023

Swift sets social media on fire by accepting the invitation to cheer on the tight end in the Chiefs' game against the Chicago Bears.

"I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?" Swift later explains in a Time magazine interview. "We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date. When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care."

Nov. 11, 2023

Kelce attends the second night of concerts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is seen dancing next to Scott Swift in the VIP tent. Swift sings "End Game" during her acoustic set and changes the lyric of her last Eras Tour song to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me." After the show, Kelce waits for Swift backstage, and videos show her running up to embrace him.

Swift flies overnight from her final Tokyo show to Las Vegas to catch Super Bowl 58. The Chiefs beat the 49ers, 25-22.

June 23, 2024

Kelce attended 14 Eras Tour shows in Argentina, Australia, Singapore, France, England, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany and Indianapolis. But the time every Swiftie remembers is when he joined Swift on stage at London's Wembley Stadium to resuscitate her and pump her up ahead of "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Feb. 9, 2025

Swift heads to her second Super Bowl to watch the Chiefs and Eagles face off in a game that ultimately ended in a defeat for her "guy on the Chiefs." She wore a crisp white blazer and red "T" jewelry piece as a necklace. The same beaded jewel was around her thigh at the Grammys.

Aug. 13, 2025

Swift returns to the place their love story first caught a spark: the "New Heights" podcast. Sitting beside Kelce, she announces her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl." While they are filming with Jason Kelce, No. 87 tasks florists with setting up a secret garden at his Kansas City home, a moment he later would later admit brought him to tears. He brings in Swift's concert photographer to capture Travis getting down on one knee.

Aug. 26, 2025

The couple finally announces their engagement 13 days after Kelce's proposa by posting a carousel of photos with the caption: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨." Included in the five photos is a close-up shot of the singer's engagement ring created by Kindred Lubeck with Artifex Fine Jewelry.

July 3, 2026

Swift and Kelce celebrated their nuptials in New York City. It's a love story, and the singer finally says "yes."
