Reese Witherspoon's boyfriend makes red carpet debut at 'Elle' premiere

Reese Witherspoon and her financier beau, Oliver Haarmann, have set a new bar in their relationship.

Witherspoon, 50, and the private equity firm cofounder stepped out together at the New York City premiere for the "Legally Blonde" prequel series "Elle" on June 23. The outing marked the couple's first appearance together at a major event.

The duo even coordinated their outfits, with Haarmann donning a tie that matched Witherspoon's form-fitting pink midi dress – an homage, of course, to Elle's signature pink wardrobe.

Witherspoon, who executive produced the project, last embodied Elle Woods in the 2003 sequel "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde." In the new Prime Video series, Lexi Minetree plays the iconic character, who must adapt to a new high school as her family swaps Bel-Air for dreary Seattle.

A second season has already been greenlit.

Haarmann wasn't Witherspoon's only date to the event. She walked the red carpet with son Deacon Phillippe, a newly minted New York University graduate.

"The Morning Show" actress has three children from two marriages. She shares Ava and Deacon Phillippe with Ryan Phillippe, whom she divorced in 2006, and son Tennessee Toth with Jim Toth; the two divorced in 2023.

Witherspoon and Haarmann first sparked rumors of a romance in 2024 when they were photographed by paparazzi in New York City.

The Hello Sunshine founder was hands-on with shaping the latest installment in Elle Woods' story.

"I just thought, 'Why not make her a character for young women nowadays?' I looked at what's going on with young girls, and I just think they need a better role model," Witherspoon said of rebooting "Legally Blonde" in her June 22 appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

She continued, "So it was time to bring Elle Woods back!"

"We watched 3,000 videos of girls trying out to be Elle Woods, and when I saw her video, it was like [a] lightning strike. She had my voice down, she had the mannerisms, she held her body a certain way," Witherspoon said of protégé Minetree.
