  • Starting June 28, only Disney resort hotel guests or those with reservations can use the free transportation.
  • The new policy does not affect free transportation from the theme parks to resort hotels.
  • This change was announced via signage at Disney Springs, which offers free parking and is open to the public.

A major change is coming to Disney Springs, the popular shopping, dining and entertainment complex at Walt Disney World.

Starting June 28, only two groups of guests may take the free resort buses and watercraft from Disney Springs to Disney resort hotels:

  • Guests staying at any Disney resort hotel
  • Guests with experiences booked at the hotels, like dining reservations

Many guests like to visit the properties – even if they aren’t staying there – for experiences like watching Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach at Disney's Polynesian’s Village Resort or snacking on Mickey-shaped beignets from Port Orleans – French Quarter.

However, going forward, they won’t be able to get there from Disney Springs without proof of a hotel stay or experience reservation.

Will there still be hotel transportation from the parks?

Yes. Anyone can still take free Disney transportation to resort hotels from the theme parks.

The new, permanent policy will only apply to leaving Disney Springs, which is notably open to the public and offers free parking.

The change was announced June 16 through signage posted at Disney Springs. It will be reflected online in the coming days.
