Stir's Kenetic Desk lets you work and sit
  • Stir%27s Kinetic%27s Desk goes on sale in February for %243%2C980
  • The first shipment is sold out

We all know that we spend way too much time sitting at our desks.

Sure, there are stand-up desks, but eight hours on your feet?

That's where Stir's Kinetic desk comes in. On sale later this month for a whopping $3,890, the desk has motors in it to automatically rise when it's time for you to get up and take a stand-up break.

The desk has a small touch screen monitor for the controls. Tap it to go up, or tap it again to go back down. The desk is a "smart" device that reminds you to take periodic breaks.

The desk "will move you, inspire you and take your creativity to new heights," the company suggests on its website.

We checked out the desk at last week's CES tech show in Las Vegas, where the experience of moving up and down at a desk without having to do much heavy lifting was quite novel.

Even with the hefty price tag, the first shipment of the desk is sold out, but CEO JP Labrosse expects to have more units available in March.
