New on Hulu: $1.99 deal gets students monthly subscription to the video streaming service

Hulu has a new subscription offer for college students. They can pay just $1.99 monthly for the streaming home of shows such as "The Bachelor" and originals including "The Handmaid's Tale."

Students over the age of 18 can signup now for the $1.99 monthly access to Hulu's ad-supported service, a savings of $4 monthly over the standard $5.99 fee. Hulu's ad-supported subscription lets you watch on TVs, smartphones, computers and other devices. College students can visit Hulu.com/student to learn more and sign-up for Hulu's student offer. 

Previously, a separate student-priced Hulu subscription was not available. However, you can get Hulu in a student offer from Spotify, which includes Hulu and Showtime for $4.99 monthly. (Spotify is typically $9.99 monthly; Showtime, $8.99 monthly.)

There's also a Disney+ bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99.

Students might enjoy watching shows together with the Hulu Watch Party feature, which lets up to seven other subscribers gather and chat in real time.

Also in Hulu's library: the miniseries "Little Fires Everywhere," TV series including "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," "Killing Eve," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Family Guy" and "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and movies such as "Mission Impossible: Fallout" and "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World."

Don't like commercials and can afford to spend more? Hulu also has a $12.99 monthly plan that lets you watch its on-demand video without commercials. That's not to be confused with Hulu + Live TV, which has more than 65 live channels (including local stations) for $64.99 monthly.
