Kelsey Mitchell's new Puma shoe deal comes with Tyrese Haliburton perk

Kelsey Mitchell's new deal with Puma earned her a special Tyrese Haliburton official welcome.

On Monday, Haliburton posted a video with the Indiana Fever guard announcing the deal. The NBA star calls Mitchell up, telling her to check her front door for a package.

"Welcome to the Puma fam," Mitchell says, smiling, in the next frame as she opens a box containing a fresh pair of blue HALI 1s, Haliburton's signature shoe.

"C'mon, you family now. You already know what it is," Haliburton said.

Mitchell has been wearing Haliburton's shoes this season during Fever games, leading to speculation that an announcement of this sort was coming. Haliburton has also supported Mitchell in the past by showing up to Fever games.

"This partnership felt authentic from the start," Mitchell said via release. "Puma continues to push basketball culture forward in a creative and meaningful way ... Seeing the success Tyrese has had with the Hali shoe from day one, I'm excited to team up with him and Puma to trailblaze the Hali franchise into the women's game."

"Kelsey is one of the toughest competitors I know and somebody who has always stayed true to herself," Halibutron said. "She's earned everything through hard work and consistency, and I'm excited to see the contribution she will make to the Hali franchise as part of the Puma family. The game continues to grow because of players like her."

Mitchell joins a lineup of other WNBA stars who have had ties to Puma, including Breanna Stewart, Skylar Diggins and NaLyssa Smith. Stewart also has a signature shoe, the "Puma Stewie."
