Miesha 'Cupcake' Tate to celebrate win with her namesake treats
LAS VEGAS – How will Miesha Tate celebrate her stunning victory Saturday night over Holly Holm? Bryan Caraway, Tate’s boyfriend and trainer, predicted the fighter nicknamed “Cupcake’’ would be in the kitchen.
“I think the first thing she’ll be doing is making a batch of cupcakes,’’ Caraway told USA TODAY Sports before the fight.“It’s a good hobby and stress reliever. It’s like doing arts and crafts.’’

Tate, UFC’s new bantamweight champion, comes by the baking skills and her nickname quite naturally. Her mother was a professional baker, Caraway said.
Tate is not a big fan of chocolate, which has help spur her creativity. Favorites cupcakes, to eat and bake, are flavored with raspberry, lemon, Oreo cookie, cream cheese and buttercream.
“She enjoys not only eating them, but baking and making her own renditions of the cupcakes as well,’’ Caraway said, adding that her baking skills go beyond cupcakes. “She makes some pretty gnarly cakes.’’
