World Cup live bracket with quarterfinal games now set: Who plays who?

Just 25 days ago, the 2026 World Cup started with 48 teams vying to be the last one standing to win soccer's biggest tournament.

Three-and-a-half weeks of competition later, the tournament is closing in on the end of its second knockout round, which will narrow the field to just eight teams in contention to chase the World Cup trophy on Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium. 

The quarterfinals already have two of the top Golden Boot scorers in Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, as they scored all of the goals in France's and Norway's round of 16 wins over Paraguay and Brazil, respectively. There remain four open slots going into Monday's set of knockout games, including one that the USMNT could secure against Belgium.

With the round of 16 starting to wrap up, here's a look at what the projected quarterfinal bracket looks like:

  • France vs. Morocco (Thursday, July 9 at 4 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts)
  • Spain vs. Belgium (Friday, July 10 at 3 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California)
  • Norway vs. England (Saturday, July 11 at 5 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida)
  • Argentina vs. Switzerland (Saturday, July 11 at 9 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri)
