Actor Cristo Fernández, who plays Dani Rojas in the hit series "Ted Lasso," was in attendance at Canada and South Africa's round of 32 match for the 2026 World Cup on Sunday, June 28. He brought a bit of Hollywood to the pitch at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Fernández had a quick chat with Mexico legends Carlos Salcido and Andrés Guardado and sports broadcaster Miguel Gurwitz before the game.
He was also seen on the pitch during pre-match festivities. As the Coca-Cola Coin Toss Assistant, he shook the referees hands after the national anthems and handed them a coin.
In May, Fernández signed with El Paso Locomotive FC of the USL Championship as a forward.
The fourth season of "Ted Lasso" is set to premiere Wednesday, Aug. 5 on Apple TV. Jason Sudeikis will return as the title character and reportedly coach a women's soccer team in England. It is uncertain if Fernández will reprise his role.
