When does Team USA play next? Full USMNT World Cup schedule

USA soccer started off its 2026 World Cup with a 4-1 win over Paraguay. The USMNT will now look to build upon that victory in its second match.

The good news for the USMNT? It has a while to rest between games. The Americans won't play again until the World Cup's second weekend, when they will travel to Seattle for another West Coast matchup against a country they have previously played four times.

Here's what to know about the United States' next opponent and the entirety of its 2026 World Cup schedule.

When does Team USA play next?

Team USA's next game will be on Friday, June 19 against Australia. The game will be played at Lumen Field in Seattle after the USMNT's opener was contested at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Australia qualified for the 2026 World Cup after being the runner-up in the AFC third round Group C behind Japan. The Socceroos will be led by veteran goalkeeper and captain Mathew Ryan, who is playing in his fourth World Cup, while Tony Popovic will coach his first World Cup after previously playing in the 2006 edition of the tournament with Australia.

USA and Australia have met in international competition four times. The USMNT leads the all-time series 2-1-1 and has won each of the last two meetings, a 3-1 victory in an international friendly ahead of the 2010 World Cup and a 2-1 win in an October 2025 friendly.
