Connor McDavid has put the Edmonton Oilers back on the map and into contention as one of the best teams in the NHL.

The Oilers captain is projected to win the Art Ross Trophy for most points for the second consecutive season by all six of USA TODAY Sports' NHL panelists. Two expect him to help lead the way to a Stanley Cup.
The Nashville Predators should go one step further in their quest for a Stanley Cup by winning their own, as forecasted by two panelists. The Pittsburgh Penguins (a three-peat) and the Anaheim Ducks are the other two teams predicted to win it all.
The most interesting race might be the one for the rookie of the year as each panelist has a different rookie selected to win the Calder Trophy.
The season begins Oct. 4.
