Vikings to hire Seahawks executive Nolan Teasley as next GM, per report

May 30, 2026, 3:35 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Vikings are hiring Seattle Seahawks assistant general manager Nolan Teasley to serve as their new general manager, NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reports.

Teasley will be the full-time replacement for Kwesi Adofo Mensah, who was fired Jan. 30 after four seasons as Minnesota's general manager. Long-time Vikings cap analyst Rob Brzezinski – who has been with the team since 1999 – had been serving as the team's interim general manager since Adofo-Mensah's firing.

The Vikings have not yet officially announced Teasley's hiring, nor what will become of Brzezinski and the remaining Minnesota front office staff.

Teasley has worked for the Seahawks since 2013 and won two Super Bowls with the team, including Super Bowl 60. He originally joined Seattle as an intern in the team's scouting department. A former running back for Central Washington University, Teasley earned the role with the Seahawks after writing letters to all 32 NFL teams following a six-year marketing career and landing a single interview with general manager John Schneider, per Pelissero.

Teasley quickly earned a promotion to pro personnel scout in 2014 and climbed the ladder from there. He became Seattle's assistant director of pro personnel in 2017 before being promoted to the director of pro personnel the following season.

In 2023, he was elevated into the assistant general manager role, where he worked closely with Schneider to help build the Seahawks, as Seattle's official website outlines.

"Teasley oversees football operations while working collaboratively with President of Football Operations/General Manager John Schneider in all aspects of player acquisition via the draft, free agency and trade proposals," the Seahawks website reads.

Teasley was recently one of 18 NFL executives invited to participate in the league's accelerator program for 2026. He will become the first of those executives to earn a full-time general manager job at the NFL level.

Teasley inherits a Vikings team coming off a 9-8 season and still looking for the answer at the quarterback position. Minnesota signed Kyler Murray during the offseason to compete with 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy while shedding the salaries of high-cost veterans like Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave.
