The market for mindfulness and mental wellness tools has expanded into many formats, from brief guided breathing to longer-form coaching, and with that expansion comes renewed attention to how people learn and sustain new habits. In that context, Trident Mindset presents itself as a training system that aims to pair practical, repeatable practices with an eye toward longer-term habit formation rather than one-off experiences. Its approach is designed to offer people a broader set of tools they can apply in daily life and under pressure.

Trident Mindset was created by a team that blends applied experience with scientific insight. CEO Chriss Smith Jr., a former Navy SEAL, helped design a program that draws on real-world experience and understanding of the brain. According to Smith, many of the strategies reflect lessons learned in high-pressure environments, such as challenging life situations, giving participants practical tools they can apply in a range of contexts.

The co-founders’ goal is not just to explain mental skills but to help participants gradually integrate them into daily routines. “You can know a skill in theory, but until it lives in your daily actions, it doesn’t truly exist,” Smith explains. The program emphasizes habit-building, self-assessment, and consistent practice to support the ongoing development of cognitive skills over time.

The program unfolds across three distinct phases, each designed to build on the last. It begins with Mindset 101, a 12-day introductory course that presents Trident Mindset’s 12 core mental strategies in brief, digestible lessons. Each day focuses on one tactic, providing participants with a clear overview of the full toolkit and helping them understand how the different strategies interconnect. This primer is paired with an initial assessment that is designed to guide users to the tactic most relevant to their current challenges, whether that’s discipline, mindfulness, focus, or intentionality.

Following the introduction, participants enter the Mindset Academy, a 12-month mastery program. Each month is dedicated to one tactic, with daily lessons and practice exercises that take just a few minutes per day. This gradual, consistent approach could allow participants to integrate each skill into their lives before moving on to the next, reinforcing the program’s emphasis on practice over theory. The final phase offers ongoing daily training designed to maintain and sharpen skills, supported by small group or one-on-one coaching for personalized guidance.

Trident Mindset’s curriculum is organized around twelve interrelated mental strategies, each targeting a different aspect of mindset and behavior. The journey begins with micro-goals, focus, and breath control, which are aimed at helping anchor attention and regulate stress in the moment. This is followed by intentionality and what Trident Mindset calls “choosing the wrench,” guiding deliberate action and encouraging participants to confront challenges directly.

Smith emphasizes that stoicism and discipline can help cultivate perspective and consistency, while meditation and mindfulness can deepen awareness and promote calm. Finally, he notes, inner voice, flipping the script, and visualization might shape how participants interpret setbacks and envision success. Although the strategies are introduced in a sequence that supports progressive development, Smith highlights that participants can access all lessons and apply them according to their individual needs, with an aim to create a flexible and practical toolkit for everyday and high-pressure situations.

“Some strategies are simple, like discipline, which builds consistency and routine. Others, like thought control, ask for more nuance, helping you notice your inner dialogue without letting it steer your actions,” Smith explains. “Over time, you start to see how each tactic connects, with progress in one area strengthening another. The program is built on consistency rather than intensity, because we believe lasting skills are developed step by step.”

Ultimately, Trident Mindset aims to offer a structured approach to developing skills that may help reduce stress, unlock potential, and support well-being. The program brings together a range of practices and organizes them into sustainable habits, which may help mental strategies feel more repeatable and adaptable. With guided training, ongoing practice, and community support, Trident Mindset seeks to provide learners with resources that may strengthen clarity, resilience, and purpose over time.
