Chris Agohp: The Tulum Gamble That Redefined Sustainable Luxury

In the middle of global lockdowns, when most entrepreneurs were freezing budgets or fleeing risk, Chris Agohp was sketching plans under palm trees. 

What started as a short sabbatical from London turned into a multi-million-dollar development project in the heart of Tulum. That project—now known as The Creators Club—has gained recognition as a notable boutique real estate development in the region. However, its journey was not without challenges from the outset. 

A Vision That Took Root in Untouched Soil  

Tulum’s raw appeal had always been magnetic, but the patch of jungle Chris selected came with no infrastructure—no water lines, no grid power, and no fiber internet. Where others saw a dead-end, he saw a blank canvas. With five private investors and a substantial stake of his own capital, Chris began transforming the area into Entorno Tulum, an eco-luxury community designed for long-term creative residents, backed by significant investment. 

From the outset, everything had to be installed from scratch: a full off-grid solar system, private water filtration, underground fiber optic connectivity, and 24/7 private security. Even after one investor backed out early, Chris pushed forward, covering the gap himself. 

The SIMCA project is expected to bring high-level infrastructure and municipal upgrades to the area, enhancing the long-term value of Entorno upon its expected completion in 2025. 

A Blueprint for Modern Living, Not Just Luxury  

Entorno wasn’t designed for tourists. It was designed for entrepreneurs, investors, and creators seeking long-term or permanent residences in natural settings, while maintaining access to connectivity and quality. 

Chris personally oversaw the preservation of 54 native trees, designing the villas around them to maintain a natural canopy. Each unit features rooftop pools, osmosis-filtered drinking water, private gardens, and blazing-fast 1 Gbps underground fiber internet. 

From Launch to Lifestyle Movement  

After completion, the project was renamed The Creators Club Tulum to reflect its unique purpose: more than a real estate asset, it’s a curated residency for globally minded creators. Residents are personally approved, and occupancy is already nearing capacity, fueled not by marketing, but by word of mouth from its community members. 

Entorno has been praised on platforms like Booking.com and Airbnb and was recently awarded the prestigious Obra del Año 2023 from Expansión/Obras Magazine in the multi-family residential category—one of Mexico’s highest honors in architecture. It has also been featured by design platforms such as Archilovers and New Norm Magazine. 

Track Record Beyond Tulum Through AGOHP Capital, Chris Agohp has expanded far beyond this jungle retreat. He now manages a hospitality portfolio of over 2,000 hotel rooms across Mexico and the United States. These types of deals, traditionally accessible to private equity and large investment firms, are now structured to accommodate qualified investors, starting at USD 500,000.
