Manuel drives this simplicity forward with his passion for giving back to his community. His perspective on life and business has been shaped by his challenging upbringing in a rough Denver neighborhood. Despite the tragedies he has seen and the mistakes he’s made, Manuel decided to be better. He dedicated himself to education, earning an associate’s degree and eventually founding his tax preparation and advisory firm shortly after. Manuel never expected to become a tax professional, but his circumstances pushed him to be of service. 

“The road to where I am today hasn’t been easy,” Manuel says candidly. “I’ve been through some dark moments that have inspired me to embrace what I can control. I seek out opportunities to contribute to my community just as it has given to me, and I hope to equip people with the power of knowledge through my firm’s services.” 

Aragon Tax Return Services started as a side hustle. Manuel began filing tax returns for family and friends in his free time, helping them complete forms and learn the best practices. The firm grew quickly by 2017 and gained many new clients outside of Colorado. Manuel handled this growth with ease, sourcing talent when necessary and diving into the numbers himself.  

As Aragon Tax Return Services continued scaling, he noticed a repeating pattern among clients: they lacked basic knowledge about finance. Manuel has expanded the company’s services to include one-on-one tax guidance, hoping to give them the support they are looking for.

Aragon goes against the industry’s hyper-complex language and procedures, giving people an opportunity to learn that money is a tool for empowerment rather than a possession,” Manuel adds.  

Since gaining added expertise as a finance director, operations manager, and tax consultant, Manuel is making impact his priority. He strives to connect with customers at their level, breaking down jargon into digestible information they can understand. These insights commonly align with tax preparation and filing, but sometimes his guidance extends to debt, expense management, and other details of personal finance. Manuel’s 12 years of industry experience have inspired him to share this knowledge freely with anyone willing to learn. He believes cultivating financial literacy is one of the best ways to leave a positive community impact.
