The Dallas area has long been a breeding ground for stars in both sports and music, but never before has a 12-year-old been making headlines and turning heads in both fields. Enter William Green III, also known as DUBG3, a Fort Worth youth who's as talented dodging tackles on the football field as he is laying down tracks in the recording studio.

A true dual phenom talent, Green III is not just rewriting the rulebook, but creating a whole new playbook as a top-ranked youth football star and aspiring rap artist with goals of fulfilling his dreams of becoming a professional athlete and chart-topping musician. Making business moves as well, DUBG3 isn’t just a football and music phenom, he’s a budding entrepreneur, partnering with Soldier Sports on their GOAT apparel line of mouthpieces and back pads.

From his early days, DUBG3 showcased a raw passion for football. As a running back, he burst onto the scene at just four years old, guided by an innate passion for the sport.

He didn’t just idolize legends like Bo Jackson and Emmitt Smith, he studied their moves, watching countless hours of YouTube highlight videos and mimicking them on the field until they became second nature. His hard work paid off in 2022 when he clinched the Junior Heisman, racking up over 2,000 rushing yards and an astounding 30 touchdowns.

Yet, amidst the accolades and on-field success, he remains focused. "When I’m on the field, my mind is clear, and I’m thinking about nothing but football," he says. His dedication and commitment caught the eye of the Dragon Elite Academy, one of the top-ranked youth football academies in the country, who offered Green III a spot on its 12U team, where he’s continuing to turn heads.

But Green III’s abilities aren't confined to the gridiron alone. Inspired by the thought that if others could make music, so could he, and guided by the same passion and work ethic he has for football, Green III took a leap of faith in the summer of 2022 and entered the recording studio. Under the guidance of his father, William Green, a former Death Row Records recording artist and two-sport All-American from Oklahoma State University, his first demo tape caught the attention of none other than Tony Draper, the legendary founder of Suave House Records. The result was the birth of a true next-generation talent.

Draper, who envisions a new era of music with the "age-appropriate movement," recognized not just raw potential in DUBG3, but an artist who could authentically represent his generation. He emphasizes that this movement is a response to the "lack of contemporary music available for all ages to enjoy, especially young children," and believes it's time for a change, with DUBG3 at the forefront of setting the stage for this transformation.

DUBG3's debut single, "King," is a testament to his artistic maturity. By giving a modern twist to Houston classic "Back Then" by Mike Jones, DUBG3 combines a magnetic flow with simmering hi-hats and pulsating 808s. He comments on his passion for music, stating, "You have to grind to get anywhere. You’ve got to put in hard work to reach the top, and I’m going to."

Another track, "Go Crazy," showcases his dynamic range. Energetic and electric, this song captured the attention of Draper, serving as the anthem that announced DUBG3's arrival. With a punchy flow that crashes into an infectious hook, he defines his approach, explaining, "It's about how I will go crazy in this game."

Interest in DUBG3’s music is spreading rapidly. Dallas' 97.9 The Beat's esteemed executive, Tami Honesty, quickly embraced DUBG3's music and message. As an early advocate, Honesty has endorsed him by enlisting the support of her team, including Program Director Big Bink and Hollywood Zay, adding DUBG3's music in the station's lineup.

"Having been in the spotlight, I always remind my son that while talent can open doors, it's humility, focus and hard work that will keep them open,” says Green. “In this game, whether it's football or music, you can't just match the efforts of others; you must outwork them. William understands that no matter how far he goes. And if he ever forgets, I’ll be right there to remind him.”

Amidst the time spent on the field and in the studio, Green III doesn't let his studies fall by the wayside. An all-A student, he embraces the challenge of maintaining his honor roll status while pursuing his passions of football and music. With his unwavering commitment, raw talent, and a network of believers rallying behind him, DUBG3's future is one where the sky's the limit. As he continues to blaze a trail that no 12-year-old has ventured before, he's transforming the narrative of youth excellence—one beat, one touchdown and one lyric at a time.Follow DUBG3 on Instagram at @dubg3.official to see what he’s up to next.
