Boston Globe subscribers wandering out into the cold to look for the morning paper won't find it, thanks to a blizzard.

For the first time in 153 years, the Boston Globe will not print the paper on Tuesday, Feb. 24, after the blizzard on Monday, Feb. 23, "made it impossible to print and deliver a paper Tuesday morning," the newspaper stated in an article.

The nor'easter storm slammed the New England area, where the paper is printed, with over 2 feet of snow, and winds prevented staff from traveling to the paper's printing press in Taunton, Massachusetts, around 37 miles south of Boston.

Here's what to know about the historic pause in printing.

Will the Boston Globe still print Tuesday's newspaper?

Yes, subscribers will still receive Tuesday's paper. However, it will be delivered on Wednesday, Feb. 25, instead, along with Wednesday's papers, according to the Globe.

Blizzard stops travel in the Northeast, thousands without power

Due to the blizzard, travel bans have been placed on several counties in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced in a post on X. Bristol, Plymouth, and Barnstable counties are under the travel ban as snow removal equipment is redeployed.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency on Sunday, Feb. 22, ahead of the storm.

In Massachusetts, 254,557 people are without power as of the morning of Feb. 24, according to USA TODAY's data.

“This will be a severe storm that presents significant risks to public safety," Healey said in a statement. "We need everyone to take it seriously."
