Syrup spill creates sticky situation for N.J. drivers

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Drivers on Interstate 78 westbound in New Jersey may have a sudden urge for pancakes or waffles after taking in the smell of maple syrup leaking from a tanker truck.

New Jersey State Police said a tanker truck carrying maple syrup overturned around 3 p.m. at the exit to Highway 173 near Bloomsbury. The ramp was closed for cleanup.

No injuries were reported, State Police said.
