Amazon shutting down Prime Now, moving two-hour delivery to Amazon app

The Amazon service providing two-hour delivery for essential goods or groceries has a new home.

The tech giant announced it is going to shut down its Prime Now app, instead moving all the features onto the primary Amazon app.

Prime Now provides the option to shop for groceries or other items from Whole Foods and other local stores, with delivery in two hours.

"To make this experience even more seamless for customers, we are moving the experience from a separate Prime Now app onto the Amazon app and website so customers can shop all Amazon has to offer from one convenient location," said Stephenie Landry, vice president of grocery at Amazon, in a statement.

Users will be able to add items until Amazon confirms it's preparing your order, quick access to favorite items, and lists detailing items trending in your area.
