Fernando Cervantes Jr.Walmart-owned Sam's Club is increasing its membership prices in May, as the warehouse store company prepares to expand its footprint across the United States this year.
In an emailed statement to USA TODAY, Sam’s Club said it is raising its annual membership prices starting May 1. The price increase was communicated to Sam’s Club members through email, according to Southern Living.
“We have adjusted our membership pricing to support the things our members love,” Sam’s Club told USA TODAY.

The membership price increase comes as Sam’s Club plans to open six new stores in the United States this year. According to previous reporting by USA TODAY, the new stores will open in Tennessee, California and Texas.

How much will a Sam’s Club membership cost now?
According to Sam’s Club, the price increases will affect both its Club membership and its Club Plus membership.
The price for a Club membership will go from $50 to $60 a year, while the Plus membership rate will go from $110 to $120 a year. Additionally, Plus members will also be able to earn up to $750 a year in Sam’s Cash rewards.
Previously, the yearly cashback cap for Plus rewards members was $500.
