This theater's 'Avatar' inspired burger sure looks colorful
Jonathan LimehouseA dine-in movie theater in Australia is welcoming "Avatar" fans back to Pandora with a colorful new menu item: a blue aioli burger.
Dubbed "The Smoked Pandoran," FoMo Cinemas in Melbourne, Australia, is offering the limited-edition sandwich to coincide with the release of "Avatar: Fire and Ash." The sandwich, which consists of a charcoal brioche bun, 24-hour smoked beef brisket, blue aioli, crispy onions, pickles and lettuce, is served with blue-salt-dusted fries, according to the theater.
In a Dec. 14 Instagram post about the burger, as well as two other limited-edition menu items, the theater said the dishes were "inspired by the world beyond the stars."
With "Avatar: Fire and Ash" hitting U.S. theaters on Dec. 19 and in Australian cinemas on Dec. 18, fans online are torn over the burger, with some being disgusted, and others intrigued about the possibility of devouring "Avatar food."
According to FoMo Cinemas' Dec. 19 Instagram post, the blue burger is not the only food or drink item "Avatar" fans can expect to see on its menu. Here are the other two menu items being offered:
- Ashlands: An alcoholic beverage made with tequila, lime, pomegranate, chilli, Tabasco and a chilli-salt rim.
- The Na’vi Shake – A vibrant blue milkshake with a smooth and light vanilla flavor.
Commenters underneath FoMo Cinemas' Instagram post seem divided over its blue burger. Although the theater received some praise for its creation, most commenters either made fun of the blue burger with memes, gifs, jokes or insults.
Despite the mix of comments, FoMo Cinemas' Instagram post encouraged fans to try the limited-edition menu items and "experience Avatar the FOMO way."
