Discovery Channel has had so much success with Shark Week, it's taking a bite out of another programming event.

The first annual Elevation Weekend will air April 25-26, highlighting heroic expeditions rather than the oceans' fiercest predators.

This year's event is centered around the premiere of Valley Uprising, a documentary about counter-culture youth scaling the cliffs of Yosemite National Park, which will make its TV debut April 25 at 8 ET/PT, followed by a repeat run of Everest Avalanche Tragedy.

Other programming in the marathon two-day event includes Man vs. Wild, Survivorman, Dual Surival and Naked and Afraid, which airs its fourth-season premiere Sunday at 10 ET/PT.

Shark Week won't be far behind: It's moving earlier this year, from mid-August to a new July 5 start date, and will scale back on its use of fake depictions of creatures such as the prehistoric monster Megalodon.
