Coworkers surprise single mom of three with a life‑changing gift

An unsuspecting single mom of three thought it was another stressful day, but her coworker made it unforgettable with a much-needed gift.

Jamie San had been a stellar member of the team at Sweet Dough Bake Shop in High Point, North Carolina. But behind the hardworking spirit, she was dealing with car issues. The constant trouble, plus her responsibility to drive three kids, weighed heavily on her.

“I didn't have the money to pay for to get the car fixed," she said. "And if I put it in the shop, then I had nothing to drive. So it was very frustrating emotionally, physically, and financially.”

But little did Jamie know, her coworkers were ready to show up for her — they had been planning something that would make her life easier: a functional car.

“We wanted to go above and beyond for her,” said her coworker, Melissa Estrada. “We wanted to make it possible for her to not have that issue anymore.”

Melissa said Jamie’s kindness and work ethic made the decision easy.

“Honestly, she deserves it more than anyone I've ever met,” she said.

On the day of the surprise, Jamie’s car troubles struck again when she got a flat tire. Her boss, Traci Thompson, sent Melissa to pick her up.

Crying during the ride, Jamie had no idea her coworkers were waiting to hand her the keys to a new beginning.
