At last! Radiohead's new album is finally here
Call your mom and let her know you'll be late for brunch.
Radiohead's new album A Moon Shaped Pool is now available to buy on iTunes and Amazon, and stream on Apple Music and Tidal. CD, vinyl and special-edition sets are also available to pre-order on amoonshapedpool.com, with expected ship dates in June and September, respectively.
The 11-song effort clocks in at just under an hour and includes the previously released Burn the Witch and Daydreaming, as well as several songs that the band has played live, according to Pitchfork. True Love Waits was included on their 2001 live EP I Might Be Wrong, but never recorded until now. Yorke played Desert Island Disk and Present Tense at shows last year, while Identikit and Ful Stop popped up on the rockers' 2012 tour.
Although the meaning of the title hasn't been confirmed, folks on Reddit have speculated that Yorke pulled it from a book called The Sun King's Garden by Ian Thompson, which charts the creation of extensive gardens at the palace of Versailles. That he'd find inspiration in Louis XIV's botanical endeavor makes sense, given that most of A Moon Shaped Pool was recorded in France. The line that may have informed the title:
"A bathhouse was situated in a moon-shaped pool formed in the moat that ran along the northern garden wall."
