Why Drew Carey couldn't wait to go under the knife

Drew Carey just came out of surgery for a not-uncomplicated operation and he's already tweeting about it.

Actually, he's been tweeting for hours, counting down the steps before he went under the knife for a herniated disk.

He sounded remarkably happy about the prospect.

For you medical types out there, he had the lingo down pat.

He posted when he finished signing his consent forms and then when they took away his phone.

Nearly five hours later, when he was still groggy, he was tweeting.

Given the recent tragedy of Joan Rivers' death, after what was supposed to be a routine procedure, Carey's chipper attitude was a boon to the medical profession, not to mention all the rest of us about to endure doctors' ministrations.
