Trader Joe's opening 9 stores in these 8 states. See new locations

Trader Joe’s is expanding even further by opening an additional nine stores across the United States in the coming months.

The California‑based grocer, which operates in 42 states, will add locations in eight U.S. states, building on momentum following the announcement of a batch of upcoming locations earlier this year. The move underscores the grocery store chain's steady growth strategy as demand continues to climb for its low‑cost, private‑label groceries.

The new stores are planned to open in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Utah. Trader Joe’s has already opened locations in Hamden, Connecticut, and Miller Place, New York, since the start of 2026.

In a statement to Fox Business, the company said the opening dates for the new locations are still to be determined.

"We are proud to be joining the neighborhood, and to continue our commitment to providing nourishment to the surrounding communities through our Neighborhood Shares program," the company told the outlet.

Trader Joe’s did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment on May 21.

The nine new locations will set to open in eight states. These are the locations:

Those nine new locations are in addition to other locations announced by Trader Joe’s earlier this year.
