Melissa McCarthy flirts with Mariska Hargitay in surprise 'SVU' spot

Melissa McCarthy got to hit on Mariska Hargitay during an appearance on Thursday night's episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

In the episode "Gimmick," aired Thursday, April 23, McCarthy plays professional fighter Jasmyn Jewell, who is questioned by Haritay, as NYPD's Captain Olivia Benson, at an expo the episode's murder victim attended.

When Benson approaches her, Jasmyn, without looking, says, "I didn't do it." But after the boxer looks up at Benson, her response gets much warmer. "You are barking up the absolute right tree," she says with a smile. "I'm always happy to support the babes in blue."

Jasmyn's flirting continues while Benson tries to get more information about the victim.

"You know what I have seen? I've seen that you got a spectacular set of baby browns. And those yams aren't bad either," McCarthy's Jasmyn continues, laying it on thick. "Big, big money with sticks like that in this line of work. I think crowds really go for Amazonian broads. I think it's a dominance thing."

The fighter continues giving Benson a hard time, making it clear by the asking price for her pictures or autograph that her "time is valuable."

"Really? You could have fooled me," Hargitay's Benson responds while looking around at her lack of fans, which does nothing but egg Jasmyn on. "Alright, I like 'em spicy," she says. "If you're a little low on funding, we can make some kind of arrangement. I know my way around a pair of handcuffs, if that floats your boat."

Benson pays her, and Jasmyn finally describes a small interaction with the victim.

As it turns out, McCarthy's appearance on the Season 27 episode was a surprise years in the making for its longtime star.

In an Instagram video McCarthy posted Thursday night, while wearing an elderly woman disguise, the comedic actress revealed the lengths she went to hide her guest appearance from her friend.

"Turns out it is VERY hard trying to keep secrets from @therealmariskahargitay on her set but we managed to pull it off and in a world where things are heavy and dark but this day was PURE JOY," McCarthy wrote. "Mariska, you are the real deal. Sorry everyone lied to you, hope it was worth it (this surprise was six years in the making people)!!!"

By the looks of the video, Hargitay was extremely surprised.

"Holy mother of Christ!" she yelled, eventually bringing McCarthy in for a tight hug. "This scene is going to go differently," she said. "I can't remember the last time I was surprised like this."

Season 27 of the long-running series has seen guest stars including Christopher Meloni, during an appearance as former "Organized Crime" Detective Elliot Stabler, as well as "Shawshank Redemption" actor Mark Rolston, "Save the Last Dance" star Sean Patrick Thomas and "The Night Agent" actress Sarah Desjardins.
