Anna Kaufman"Summer House" star Amanda Batula is addressing rumors of a romantic link with costar West Wilson.
Batula, who recently filed for divorce from husband and fellow series star Kyle Cooke, took to social media Tuesday to confirm the closeness between she and Wilson.
"We've seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we need a little space to process things privately before speaking on it," she posted in a lengthy statement to her Instagram story March 31.
Batula, 34, and Wilson, 31, are part of an ensemble cast on the Bravo show, which follows a group of friends sharing a house for the summer in the Hamptons, a wealthy enclave on Long Island, New York. Wilson previously dated Ciara Miller, another "Summer House" cast member and one of Batula's closest friends. The fallout from their split was chronicled on a season of the show.

Batula continued in the statement, which Wilson also posted to his Instagram story: "We've shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what's developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care," the statement said.
"As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless," Wilson and Batula wrote. "We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this."

Ciara Miller speaks out after Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke address romance
Miller, 30, subtly addressed the news with an all-too-fitting caption, while sharing an Instagram video from the red carpet premiere for the Apple TV series "Your Friends & Neighbors."
"If you can't trust your Friends & Neighbors, who can you trust?" Miller wrote in the caption of the video on Tuesday, in which she interviews the Season 2 cast. She later took the opportunity to lean into the controversy, as when actor Jon Hamm greets her with a "how are you," the camera zooms in on her, responding, "I'm good … well, I've been better."
Batula and Miller no longer follow one another on Instagram. Some fans have questioned whether the posts were real or a prank to stir the pot ahead of the latest episode of the show or April Fools' Day.
USA TODAY has reached out to Bravo for comment.
Batula and Cooke's final summer as a married couple is playing out on the current season of "Summer House." Last week's episode, which Bravo producer and the show's reunion host Andy Cohen said was Cooke's "worst" in 10 seasons of the series, saw Cooke arguing with Batula and using expletives toward her, which prompted her to cry. Wilson defended Batula in the moment and later on in a confessional interview.
Cooke took to social media to apologize to Batula. "There's no excuse for how I acted last summer. The way I spoke to and about Amanda was unacceptable, and it's brutal to watch back. But not nearly as painful as what she's had to go through," Cooke wrote in the caption of the March 26 post. "Amanda and I have already spoken about all of this, but I felt the need to acknowledge this publicly. I’m truly sorry and regret the way I handled myself. I know nothing can erase the hurt I caused, she never deserved that, and I need to be better."
But amid the swirl of Wilson-Batula rumors, Cooke shared photos of himself with Miller from his elderly-themed birthday party shown in the most recent episode.
"Instagram vs Reality," Cooke captioned two nearly identical photos. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out the post's tagged location: Psych Ward.

Many fans also voiced support for Miller, with one Threads user writing, "Clocking in for my shift as president of the Ciara Miller fan club."
