Marcello Hernández reveals future on 'SNL' after Bowen Yang exit
After a flurry of shocking exits from "Saturday Night Live," Marcello Hernández is providing some reprieve.
The Season 51 main cast member appears not to be going anywhere anytime soon.
"I'm there, I'm there, I'm there," he told E! on the red carpet amid presenting at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, Jan. 4. "I'm having fun, bro. It's a crazy job, and you get to meet so many crazy people – and I love it."
The comments follow Bowen Yang's surprise mid-season exit, after six years on the sketch show, on Dec. 20. Yang joined "SNL" as a writer in 2018 and later became a member of the cast in 2019.

"That's a guy who put up numbers," Hernández said of his former costar. "Consistent, always putting up big sketches. He had a distinct voice, and everybody loves him. It's for a reason. He's a hard worker."
The "Shrek 5" star added Yang is "a guy to learn from."
Bowen's announcement came after several other cast members confirmed their exits before the season opener, including Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim and Devon Walker.
Hernández, 28, first joined the cast in 2022 and became a main cast member ahead of the 50th season in fall 2024. He has quickly become a fan favorite, with viral sketches such as heartthrob Domingo – the lover of Chloe Fineman's unfaithful bride Kelsey – and as Grant, half of "The Couple You Can't Believe Are Together." His comedic portrayal of "Sábado Gigante" host Don Francisco has also earned praise, including from the man himself.
