Chrishell Stause is taking the next exit off Sunset Boulevard.
The reality television star, 44, who made a name for herself as one of the stars of Netflix's real-estate drama "Selling Sunset," told Bustle in a new interview that she was leaving the show. After nine seasons on the program, which follows the lives of the luxury real estate agents at The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles, Stause told the magazine that she's ready for what comes next.
"I've vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past," she told Bustle, in an article published Nov. 7. "I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it's really hard to turn something like this down."

Despite the success the show has afforded her, Stause told the outlet that even "Jesus Christ himself" could not coax her back for Season 10. "Selling Sunset" first premiered in 2019, and has grown considerably in popularity since then, spawning three spinoffs that focus on other luxury markets. Stause herself has become an independent celebrity – she appeared on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2020 and her personal life has become the subject of fascination.
"I've gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially," she told Bustle. "I'm lucky to have other forms of employment, because it's no longer good for my mental health." Stause went on to detail how interacting with "problematic" castmates put a strain on her, particularly after she came out as queer.

"If they do continue, I wish them the best," she said of the series. "If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don't know. But I have no ill will toward the show. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don't want to be bitter about it, even though I'm leaving not in the way that I would've loved."
