How many Oscars did 'Hamnet' win?

"Hamnet" has been bubbling under the surface all award season but became a strong contender alongside other popular films, such as "Sinners" and "One Battle After Another."

The historical drama, directed by Chloé Zhao, was nominated for eight Oscars, including best picture and best actress for Jessie Buckley. Buckley was in a strong category against actresses Rose Byrne (“If I Had Legs I'd Kick You”), Kate Hudson (“Song Sung Blue”), Renate Reinsve (“Sentimental Value”), and Emma Stone (“Bugonia”).

Jessie Buckley took home the trophy for best actress at the 2026 ceremony.

"It's Mother's Day in the UK today, so I would like to dedicate this to the beautiful chaos of a mother's heart," she said during her acceptance speech. "We all come from a lineage of women who continue to create against all odds. Thank you for recognizing me in this role. This is the greatest honor."
