Jack White's wife Olivia Jean files for divorce, cites 'inappropriate marital conduct'
Jack White and wife Olivia Jean are heading for divorce after what Jean cites as "inappropriate marital conduct."
Olivia Jean and Jack White are getting a divorce after more than three years of marriage.
Jean, 36, filed a complaint for divorce June 3 in Nashville, citing "irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct," according to documents obtained by USA TODAY.
The "Raving Ghost" singer listed their date of separation as the date of filing and alleges she can show that White "is guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper." The criteria of this reasoning under Tennessee law is when one spouse exhibits "cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct towards" the other.

In the complaint, Jean says she is dependent on White's income for support and requests alimony. She is also asking to remain the beneficiary of his life insurance and for White to continue paying her health insurance coverage.
Jean states that she "hopes" to enter into a written Marital Dissolution Agreement regarding the division of their assets, subject to court approval. She also asks that White pay her legal costs and fees associated with the proceedings.

The artists tied the knot in December 2022 during a concert in his hometown of Detroit. The surprise began toward the end of the show, when White ushered Jean onstage and they began singing his band's song "Hotel Yorba."
Before the song ended, the music cut out and White got down on one knee to propose. "I've got a question for you," White told Jean. "Will you marry me?" She accepted, and they walked off.
Minutes later, the pair returned to the stage and further shocked the crowd with a live wedding ceremony officiated by Third Man Records' Ben Swank.
This marked White's third marriage. He was previously married to Meg White from 1996 to 2000 and to Karen Elson from 2005 to 2013.
