Princess Kate shares rare comment on chemotherapy
Anna KaufmanPrincess Kate is sharing a rare insight into her battle with cancer.
The British royal, 43, opened up about her own experience with chemotherapy during a stop at Charing Cross Hospital in West London on Thursday, Jan. 8.
When a volunteer shared that chemotherapy patients and visitors are in the hospital "for hours," Princess Kate replied, "I know," per Hello! magazine. "We know," she added, touching her husband, Prince William's arm, the outlet reports.
Prince William also used the visit to share about his family's health journey.

"Both of us have had different experiences with hospitals. Me working with the air ambulance; Catherine with her recent health journey," William said during a roundtable discussion at the hospital visit, according to The Sun.
"And coming here today and reminding ourselves just how important all the teams are, all the staff, the patients," he continued, per the outlet. "It's so heartwarming, and it's so important that we kind of acknowledge and appreciate all that goes on in the (National Health Service) and that very strong bond between patient and carer."

Kate's visit to the hospital is just the latest engagement in her gradual return to public life. The royal announced in 2024 that she had been battling cancer and was undergoing "a course of preventive chemotherapy treatment." In early 2025, Kate revealed she had finished chemotherapy and was "doing what I can to stay cancer-free."
