Chevrolet Camaro leads the pink car parade

NASCAR fans are seeing pink.

A special themed pink Chevrolet Camaro SS is pacing select NASCAR Sprint Cup series races to underscore General Motors' committment to support a charity, Making Strides Through Breast Cancer.

The car was seen, for instance, at the Advocare 500 in Georgia last month.

In addition, A special 2014 Corvette Stingray will serve as the pace car for the IZOD IndyCar Series event at Auto Club Speedway in October. Chevy is also donated $10 for the cause through every test drive its customers take and $200 for every lap run under a caution flag in the NASCAR series.

Last year, with Chevrolet's support, the American Cancer Society raised $1,211,463 in contributions through the Making Strides walks to fund research, wellness, breast cancer awareness education and support for breast cancer patients and their families.

On October 12, Don Johnson, vice president of Chevrolet Sales and Service will the walk through Detroit, GM's home town.
