Italian line MSC Cruises has one-week cruises on the 3,500-passenger MSC Divina, from Miami, priced from $209 in October.

Add MSC Cruises to the list of cruise lines with a promotion for Wave season — the period from January through March when a large percentage of cruises are booked.

The Europe-based line's new 'greatest cruise sale ever,' unveiled Monday, brings up to $200 in shipboard credits, complimentary drinks and free passage for kids 11 and under.

Under the terms of the offer, customers who book a Bella Experience package with an ocean-view or balcony cabin will get up to $50 in spending credit.

Customers booking a Fantastica Experience package with an ocean-view or balcony cabin will receive up to $100 in spending credit and 12 vouchers per person for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Customers booking an Aurea Experience package will receive up to $200 in spending credit. The Aurea Experience package already comes with an all-inclusive beverage package, spa package and other perks.

As part of the promotion, MSC also is reducing the deposit required to hold a cabin. Available through Feb. 15, the offer applies to select Caribbean, Bermuda, Europe, Canary Islands and trans-Atlantic Grand Voyage sailings that are five days or longer.

Other lines that have rolled out a Wave season promotion in recent days include Norwegian, which is offering a choice of perks to customers who book by the end of January, and luxury operator Seabourn, which is touting reduced rates and free upgrades.
