Duane Gang is the Managing Editor for Nation at USA TODAY. Previously, he served as the senior editor for storytelling. Prior to joining USA TODAY, he was the politics and investigations editor at The Tennessean in Nashville, where he also served as the metro editor. Gang previously covered the environment and transportation and served as the Tennessee correspondent for USA TODAY. His coverage of hydraulic fracturing and coal ash was awarded the 2014 Reed Environmental Writing Award for journalism. From 2005-2012, Gang was a reporter for The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif., covering government and politics. A graduate of Rutgers University, he began his professional career at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, where he covered police, city hall and politics.
