Look: Air New Zealand's Skynest lets economy travelers sleep in beds

Updated April 14, 2026, 3:10 p.m. ET
Air New Zealand's soon-to-be-introduced Sky Nest will allow up to 12 economy passengers a four hour resting shift in a flat bed on flights between Auckland and New York. Access will cost $495 in addition to the price of the ticket, and can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis. The airline's CEO said it's a chance for Air New Zealand to innovate and "win on sleep" for economy passengers on long-haul flights.
