Pittsburgh-area Macy’s to close in April. Find out when, where, why
Fernando Cervantes Jr.The closing date for one of the 14 Macy's stores shuttering in the coming months has been confirmed, leaving some shoppers less than two weeks before doors are shut for good.
The Macy’s store located at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills mall in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, northeast of downtown Pittsbburgh, is set to close on April 26, according to local outlets TribLive and WTAE. The store is one of 14 locations Macy’s said it would close in the first half of 2026.
In January, Macy’s confirmed it would be closing a total of 150 "underproductive" locations this year. The retailer said in a statement that the closings are an effort to "better serve customers and support long-term growth."
The Pittsburgh-area store is the only Pennsylvania location among the confirmed closings.

USA TODAY reached out again to Macy’s to obtain specific closing dates for the following locations, but did not receive an immediate response.
