Girl’s long‑lost ‘Papa Bear’ teddy returns after years of searching

For little Abrielle, “Papa Bear” was the one thing that helped fill the void left by her grandfather, Danny Jo. While her father was away serving in the U.S. Marines, she and Danny Jo were inseparable — cooking, dancing and spending day after day making memories together.

When Danny Jo passed away in 2020, the teddy bear became Abrielle’s direct connection to her Papa. But after two years of constant companionship, the bear was lost during a sleepover, leaving the 7-year-old devastated.

Her mom, Lori, began a determined search for an exact replica of the discontinued bear. After years of scouring the internet, she finally found a match.

One day, Abrielle opened the door to find a special delivery “from heaven” sitting on the doorstep. After reading the letter, she tearfully — and joyfully — opened the package and tightly embraced the gift inside.
