A sweet new treat has hit Costco's menu.

The membership warehouse club known for its food court with low prices and hot dog deals launched a new dessert earlier this month, the Caramel Churro Sundae. While the food court often features a set menu of treats and smoothies, like vanilla ice cream sundaes with chocolate or strawberry toppings, new additions occasionally pop up for shoppers.

As the new sundae comes to Costco locations, here's what we know about the dessert. See USA TODAY check it out in the video above.

What is the Caramel Churro Sundae?

The Caramel Churro Sundae is the latest addition to Costco's lineup of sundaes, which have previously rotated to include fun flavors like the Double Chocolate Mint Sundae and Caramel Brownie Sundae. The dessert costs $2.99.

The treat features vanilla ice cream, salted caramel sauce, and churro bites, according to a Costco social media post featuring a description of the dessert.

So far, reviews of the treat are mixed in the comment section of Costco's post. Multiple comments described the dessert as a bit too sweet, while others called for the return of whole churros to the menu.

But fans of the dessert are also surfacing as the new commodity gains attention. Social media account Costco Buys, which tracks "hot Costco finds," described the new sundae as "seriously so good" in a post on Instagram and said customers can get the treat in multiple flavor combinations, including "vanilla caramel, chocolate churro, or a chocolate and vanilla twist."

How long will the Caramel Churro Sundae be at Costco?

Costco has not publicly said how long the Caramel Churro Sundae will be at the food court, but specialty flavors have been available for a limited time in the past.

The Caramel Churro Sundae is the latest addition to Costco's lineup of sundaes.

The last specialty flavor, the Double Chocolate Mint Sundae, became available at food courts in February and remained on the menu until being replaced by the Caramel Churro Sundae earlier this month.

Costco did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for more information on its latest menu item, and it is not clear if the new dessert has rolled out nationwide.
