During an HBO presentation on Dec. 3, creator Sam Levinson said Season 3 of "Euphoria" will release in April 2026, per a transcript obtained by USA TODAY. The new season is set five years after Season 2, Levinson said, adding that this was very intentional.
"Many, many shows have had 30-year-old high school students, but we're not going to," Levinson said during the presentation. "Five years felt like a natural place because if they had gone to college, they'd be out of college at that time."

What happens in 'Euphoria' Season 3?
In Season 3, Rue Bennett (Zendaya) is in Mexico, in debt to Laurie (Martha Kelly) and trying to "come up with innovative ways to pay it off," Levinson said during the Dec. 3 presentation. Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) are engaged and living in the suburbs.
Jules Vaugn (Hunter Schafer) is in art school, and Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) is a talent agency manager in Hollywood.

Natasha Lyonne, Trisha Paytas, Eli Roth and Homer Gere will also make their "Euphoria" debuts, according to Levinson.
What is 'Euphoria' about?
Released on HBO in 2019, "Euphoria" is, or rather was, about a group of high school students struggling with drugs, sex and identity. The series is both an American adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name and an ode to Levinson's own experiences with drug abuse. "Euphoria" has received more than 40 awards since its debut, including nine Emmys.
