Snoop Dogg reveals a biopic on his life is coming to theaters in 2027
James PowelLAS VEGAS – Snoop Dogg announced that a biopic based on his life will come to theaters "next year" during the opening of Universal Studios' presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 15.
"After my brothers told their story in 'Straight Out of Compton,' it's my turn," Snoop said.
The studio revealed that the film will be titled "Snoop" and that Jonathan Daviss will play the rap legend. Snoop said filming will take place in Los Angeles.
Snoop announced that Brian Grazer will produce the film and that Craig Brewer will direct.

"[Brewer] just showed us how hard it is out here for a pimp from 'Hustle & Flow.' And then last year, he got us all singing ‘Sweet Caroline,'” Snoop said, referencing Brewer's 2025 film "Song Sung Blue."
Grazer produced the 2002 Eminem biopic "8 Mile."
Snoop performed snippets of his classic songs for the audience at the annual gathering of the theater industry and added that he will be back with a trailer next year. "You know my movie going to be rated-R, you better believe that," he said.

He called himself part of the Universal family before introducing Universal Entertainment chairwoman Donna Langley at the top of the show.
"I got a trailer on the lot right next to [Steven] Spielberg. ... They called the fire department on me two times already, but it wasn’t fire. Smoke, baby," he added.
