Cheryl Hines speaks out about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. marriage: 'We trust each other'
Brendan MorrowCheryl Hines is addressing the state of her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star, 59, spoke to The Wall Street Journal in an interview published Aug. 11 about her relationship with Kennedy following reports last year that he allegedly had a sexting affair with reporter Olivia Nuzzi.
Hines did not comment directly on the allegations, saying that there isn't "any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it." But the actress told the Journal, "Bobby and I talk about everything, so that's how we move through everything, and we're really good friends, and we trust each other."
While previewing how her upcoming memoir will discuss her marriage, Hines also said, "One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we've been through is behind us."

A representative for Kennedy, the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, said in a statement to The New York Times and other outlets last year that he only met Nuzzi "once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece."

Hines, who has drawn criticism for standing by her husband amid his involvement in President Donald Trump's administration, told the Journal that she now describes herself as an independent after being a registered Democrat in the past. But she said she is still friends with her former "Curb Your Enthusiasm" costar Larry David, a vocal critic of Trump. David did not comment for the story.

Hines did, however, push back on a social media post from David's ex-wife Laurie David, who said Hines was playing the role of the "dutiful, adoring wife" and "setting women back decades."

Hines told the Journal she found this post "odd" because "I don't really have a relationship with her, so that was also even more surprising that she had so many feelings about me sitting behind my husband, supporting him."
