Shopping for a used EV? These 10 had the biggest jumps in sales

There's been an uptick in interest in used electric vehicles as drivers are reeling from rising new-car and gas prices.
Used EV sales were up nearly 30% in the first quarter of 2026, compared to same three-month period in 2025, according to a new report from the website CarGurus.com.
The finding comes as the average price for new cars reached $49,353 in February 2026, which is the most recent data available, according to Cox Automotive. By comparison, the average price of a used EV in the US is around $28,000–$29,000, according to Recharged.com, while the average used gas car price was over $29,099, according to Cars.com.
The finding also comes as the national average gas price rose to $4.14 per gallon on April 7, according to the AAA Auto Club. That figure is up from a national average of $3.41 one month ago on March 6.
The USA TODAY Cars team took a look at the 10 used EV models that CarGurus said had the biggest sales increases in the first quarter of 2026.
